It’s not always easy for marketing and privacy teams to work together. Marketers want to know more and more about customers, while privacy specialists want to protect customer rights.
That’s why we’re joining with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) for a webinar at 11 AM (EDT) on Thursday, Sept. 28, titled: “Getting on the Same Page: How to Align Privacy Needs with Business Objectives.”
The IAPP is the world’s largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community, and I’m honored to be joined on the webinar by Rita Heimes, a privacy attorney who is the IAPP’s research director and data protection officer, along with Vivek Narayanadas, Associate General Counsel for Privacy at Shopify.
Rita, Vivek and I will explore – in a friendly way – the differing perspectives on privacy across organizations and how these groups can move toward agreement and alignment. Bridging this gap is especially urgent as new laws, such as the European Union’s upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), come into effect with requirements for significant change in how customer data is collected and utilized.
We’ll also make time for your questions, and we’re hoping for a lively discussion.
