Gigya’s Social User Data Pledge
We access permission-based user social profile information on behalf of our clients and their users through the use of social authentication on our clients’ properties (“Social Data”). In this process, a user is granting certain access and use to Social Data to our client. We understand that doing so means that we carry a great responsibility not only to our clients, but to those users as well. The Social Data we collect is subject to each user’s individual social network privacy settings and permissions and, while we do access this Social Data on behalf of our clients and their users, we take user privacy very seriously.

We firmly believe that users should be aware of how their personally identifiable information is used and we work with our clients to ensure that the process of passing and storing this Social Data is transparent and easy-to-understand for users. Similarly, we strive to adhere to the terms of service for all of the social networks and identity providers we work with to ensure that data collection meets the standards of those networks. As social network and government policies change, we will always strive to adhere to those changes.

We believe that collecting personally identifiable information on behalf of our clients requires high levels of security. We take this responsibility seriously and we follow industry best practices, such as firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and advanced encryption algorithms to secure any personally identifiable information that we process.
