Moving Beyond the Fear of GDPR

The European Union’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), due to take full effect in May 2018, can seem scary at first glance. There are far-ranging requirements for protecting consumer data, mandates to hire a Data Privacy Officer, and the possibility of fines for noncompliance that could reach into the tens of millions of dollars.

Knowledge is often the best way to overcome fear of the unknown, and that’s why Gigya has organized a webinar for November 10 featuring a leading GDPR expert: Dr. Karsten Kinast of KuppingerCole, a global data privacy research firm.

Karsten KinastDuring the webinar (set for 5 pm in Western Europe, 4 pm in the UK, 11 am in the Eastern United States and 8 am in the Western United States), Dr. Kinast will explain the purpose of GDPR, the obligations of organizations doing business with EU citizens, and critical upcoming deadlines.

Gigya also commissioned a white paper from KuppingerCole titled “GDPR and Implications for Consumer Identity Management” that gives an overview of the issues.

Even if you aren’t available on November 10, you can register for the webinar now and we’ll send you a link to the replay. To sign up, please visit http://www.gigya.com/resource/webinar/understanding-gdpr-customer-identity-management/.
