We’ve released support for Facebook’s new iOS Share Dialog, which improves users’ sharing experiences from your business’s mobile app. With the iOS Share Dialog, your users can share dynamic Open Graph stories to their Facebook networks even faster, without having to login to Facebook first. We’ll go over these updates and their implications in greater depth below.
Built-in support for Open Graph actions
The Share Dialog lets users publish rich Open Graph stories directly to their News Feeds as well as tag friends and places to create broader context and distribution. This helps your app reach a wider network in a dynamic format that associates your business’s name and web properties with a specific action.
Ability to share without logging in first
With native sharing, users can seamlessly share your content to their Facebook networks without having to login to Facebook regardless of whether they use Facebook Login to connect your app to their Facebook account. This cuts the sharing process down to one simple step to encourage more frequent sharing over iOS devices. Facebook is also working on an Android version of the Dialog.
By enabling businesses to facilitate easier sharing on mobile devices, we hope to encourage deeper interactions between companies and their customers. To integrate the Share Dialog in your mobile app, make sure your business uses Facebook iOS SDK 3.5.
